Since 2001 ETL has been provided PSTN service to its customers which at that times its service has been covered only Vientiane Capital and Bolikhamxay province. However, in 2003 PSTN service has been expanded to other urban areas in some provinces such as Khammouane, Savannakhet, Champasak, Vientiane and
Luangprabang. Currently, ETL can provide PSTN service to its customers in capable of 50.000 subscribers. There are 25.000 customers have been using

PSTN service in the whole country, its 15.000 customers are in Vientiane Capital.
The monthly fee for PSTN service is 1.5 US$/month and air time fee is 210 Kip/minute and in the near future ETL has a plan to expand its PSTN service capacity by according to the increasing of its customers. Moreover, ETL has added many different extra services which all of

them are become the most attractive services for its PSTN customers in order to providing values, benefits, time servings and conveniences more than its regular calls. Recently, ETL has offered 13 different extra services such as pass word service, wake up call service, conference call service and etc. At the same time, PSTN service is able to connect into internet through Dial Up System.
